Inter Milan’s Aleksandar Stanković ready to seize his chance
Aleksandar Stanković has thanked Cristian Chivu for his faith as the young midfielder prepares to be part of Inter Milan's first-team plans for the upcoming season
Aleksandar Stanković is one of the newest faces in Inter Milan's squad for pre-season, and the 20-year-old midfielder is determined to make the most of the opportunity handed to him by head coach Cristian Chivu.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Stanković has already expressed his gratitude to Chivu, a coach who knows him well from their successful years together in Inter Milan's academy. The pair are now preparing to reunite at first-team level for the first time.
Chivu sees Stanković as part of Inter Milan's future
The report claims there are no transfer plans involving the son of Inter Milan legend Dejan Stanković.
Instead, the club considers him one of its most valuable young assets, with an estimated valuation of at least €40 million (approximately $47 million).

Chivu reportedly has no doubts about the midfielder's future. With pre-season training in Germany just around the corner, the Inter Milan coach has already decided that Stanković will be part of his senior midfield for the 2026/27 campaign.
The club's strategy is to keep the youngster in Milan, allowing him to continue his development throughout pre-season, including the summer tour of Hong Kong and Australia, before giving him the chance to establish himself over the course of the entire season.
Ready to fight for a first-team role
Competition in Inter Milan's midfield remains fierce, but Stanković is expected to follow a similar path to fellow young talent Pio Esposito, who successfully broke into the senior squad last season.
The Serbian midfielder also brings valuable European experience after making 14 appearances for Club Brugge across Champions League qualifying rounds, the league phase and the play-offs.
His deep connection with Inter Milan, built through years in the club's academy and strengthened by his family's history, is seen as another important factor in his development.
Chivu believes that Nerazzurri DNA, combined with Stanković's commitment and gratitude, can help the midfielder become an important player for the club in the years ahead.
