Talks expected between Lookman's agents and Atalanta, while Inter Milan consider a final offer to avoid walking away from the deal

According to FcInter1908.it, Inter Milan are currently in a holding pattern, awaiting a key meeting between Ademola Lookman’s agents and Atalanta.

In less than twenty-four hours, the promised transfer between Lookman and Atalanta has taken on a much clearer shape.

Breaking the silence was Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi, who spoke publicly to clarify the club’s position.

“If we go back to last year,” Percassi said during a press conference, “we received an offer of around €20 million  (£17 million) from PSG, and the player asked to be sold. Atalanta, a credible club made up of respectable people, made a promise to allow him to leave in this transfer window under two conditions: he must join a top European club and he must not play in Italy for another team.”

Inter Milan are now waiting to understand Atalanta’s exact intentions. A direct conversation between the player’s agents and the Bergamo club is scheduled, and this meeting will aim to clarify two things: whether the Percassi family is truly willing to sell Lookman to Inter Milan, and at what price.

Final decision hinges on price as Inter Milan eye quick resolution

From Inter Milan’s headquarters on Viale della Liberazione, there's an openness to a final financial push, with a willingness to go as high as around €44–€45 million (£37.5 to £38.5 million) in a fixed base offer.

If Atalanta were to insist on a higher figure, directors Marotta and Ausilio could walk away from negotiations and begin focusing on other potential alternatives to the Nigerian forward.

While Percassi rightfully maintains that Atalanta alone will set the terms and timing of any deal, Inter Milan cannot afford to wait too long.

Another rejection close to the end of the transfer window would leave them with little time to pursue a suitable replacement. For this reason, the club hopes to bring the situation to a conclusion within this week.
