Inter Milan crisis: three straight losses before Barcelona
After defeats to Bologna, Milan, and Roma, Inter Milan face a sudden collapse in form, risking the hard work of an entire season

The Nerazzurri lose again, this time to Roma, and risk seeing all the hard work of their season undone.
Bologna, Milan, Roma: Inter Milan’s nightmare week ends with three defeats, no goals scored, and five conceded, along with elimination from the Coppa Italia and a heavy setback in Serie A.
And there’s more: three consecutive defeats, something that had never happened before under Simone Inzaghi’s management.
Surely not the ideal preparation ahead of the match against Barcelona, a team arriving at Montjuïc with one extra day's rest and already celebrating a trophy (the Copa del Rey) in their cabinet.
After a season spent as protagonists, the Nerazzurri now find themselves incredibly out of breath right at the final stretch.
Too many players are physically drained; too many have been forced into overwork, inevitably losing their sharpness and clarity. And when it’s time to change the game plan, a long-standing issue emerges: the lack of players capable of beating their man and creating unpredictability.
Inter Milan’s style of play, praised and studied both in Italy and Europe, needs players performing at their peak: without this, any match can become a dangerous obstacle.
Despite the dark moment, Dumfries' return and San Siro's support offer hope for Inter Milan's final run.

In this bleak picture, there are, however, two pieces of good news.
First: the return of Denzel Dumfries. The Dutch wing-back came on in the second half to a standing ovation from the crowd and immediately impressed with his energy, physicality, and relentless runs.
He will be a crucial weapon for Inzaghi in this final part of the season.
The second positive note came at the final whistle: no boos from San Siro, but rather applause for the team despite the defeat. A way of saying: We are here, and we stand by your side.
Now it’s up to the players, the coach, and his staff to find a way out of this crisis.
