The Italian full-back is in brilliant form and Inter Milan are moving fast to extend his contract amid Premier League interest

Manchester United have once again set their sights on Federico Dimarco. The Inter Milan left-back, one of the cornerstones of Cristian Chivu’s system, has rediscovered his best form after a somewhat quiet end to last season.

According to Tuttosport via Fcinter1908, the player’s stunning early-season performances have reignited Premier League interest — but Inter Milan are determined to keep him in Milan.

Dimarco’s left foot is on fire at the start of this campaign,” the paper writes. “Never before in his career had he started a season so brilliantly.”

Indeed, the numbers speak for themselves: 2 goals and 3 assists in his first six Serie A appearances, plus two more assists with Italy during the international break. The 26-year-old has been decisive, dynamic, and increasingly central to Inter Milan’s attacking structure.

Manchester United return for their long-time target

Dimarco’s performances have not gone unnoticed abroad. Tuttosport reports that Manchester United manager Rúben Amorim — a long-time admirer of the Italian defender — remains keen to bring him to Old Trafford. Amorim reportedly pushed for the transfer last year and could make another attempt in upcoming windows.

However, Dimarco’s stance is clear: he wants to stay at Inter Milan. Born and raised in Milan, the defender dreams of spending his entire career with the Nerazzurri — and one day wearing the captain’s armband.

Inter Milan prepare a new long-term contract for Dimarco

Inter Milan’s leadership, aware of Dimarco’s importance both on and off the pitch, are working on a new deal to extend his stay until 2029, possibly even 2030. His current contract runs until 2027, but Marotta and Ausilio want to secure his future as soon as possible.

A dynamic, hard-working full-back like Dimarco is a rare commodity in Serie A. Chivu has made him a fundamental part of his tactical plans, and his strong start has only cemented his position as an untouchable member of the squad.

After a shaky beginning to the season, Inter Milan are now back in form and ready to chase the Serie A title.

A victory against Roma this weekend would only strengthen their claim — and for Dimarco, it would be another step toward becoming a symbol of the club he’s always loved.
