Both players are facing difficult recoveries, but Inter Milan hasn’t given up hope: “Very tough, but not impossible,” says Inzaghi

For both, it will be very difficult, as the issues they’re dealing with typically require weeks to heal. But the word impossible has yet to be written.

It will be extremely tough for both, since the problems they've suffered usually require a few weeks of rest.

Still, the word impossible hasn't been said—especially because both will do everything they can to be part of the Inter Milan team that will face Barcelona in one of the most important matches in its recent history.

Hope remains for a last-minute return in one of Inter Milan’s biggest matches

For Lautaro Martinez and Pavard, as reported by Repubblica via Fcinter1908.it, it’s a race against time:
"For Lautaro, it’s a race against time. The muscle injury that forced him off during the game against Barcelona is worrying for Inter Milan.

Like with Thuram, the hope is for a lightning-fast recovery ahead of the return leg. 'It will be very difficult to have him,' admitted Simone Inzaghi. But very difficult does not mean impossible.

The Argentine will undergo further medical tests. He will certainly only be in the stands on Saturday, when his teammates face Verona at San Siro.

Next to him, likely, will be Pavard too, dealing with a left ankle sprain suffered against Roma. But for both, if there’s even a small chance, a rapid recovery attempt will be made."
