Lautaro Martinez injury update ahead of Barcelona clash

Inter Milan confirm Lautaro Martinez has a muscle strain and will be assessed daily ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League match against Barcelona

Inter Milan have released an official statement regarding Lautaro Martinez’s condition. 

The Argentine striker has suffered a strain in the flexor muscles of his left thigh and will be monitored day by day.

This is relatively good news, as scans have ruled out any muscle tear, leaving a small hope that Lautaro could still be called up for Tuesday’s match — though most likely only to sit on the bench. 

Sky Sport: Lautaro likely to start on the bench against Barça

According to Sky Sport via Fcinter1908.it, Lautaro will be evaluated between Sunday and Monday, which will be decisive in determining whether he can be included in the squad.

As of now, it is more likely that Taremi will start the match against Barcelona, with Arnautovic confirmed to lead the line against Verona. 

Sky Sport reiterates that while the chances are slim, Lautaro is doing everything he can to be available for the key Champions League encounter.
