Inter Milan break 60-point barrier again as title omens resurface
Fifth time in history after 25 games and past precedents all ended with the Scudetto
Fifth time in history for Inter Milan after 25 games and past precedents all ended with the Scudetto
Only four times before this season had Inter Milan surpassed 60 points after 25 Serie A matches.
Nerazzurri supporters may prefer not to tempt fate, but history paints a striking picture: on every previous occasion, the campaign ended with the Scudetto sewn onto the shirt.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport via Fcinter1908, Chivu’s Inter Milan are enjoying top spot in the table, seized in mid December with a crucial away win in Genoa that allowed them to overtake Milan and Napoli.
Since then, the numbers have reinforced the sense of authority around Lautaro and his teammates.

This is the fifth time in club history that Inter Milan have crossed the 60 point mark after 25 league games.
The previous instances? 1988-89 with 64 points under Trapattoni, 2006-07 with 67 under Mancini, 2007-08 with 61 again under Mancini, and 2023-24 with 66 under Inzaghi. Each season concluded with the Italian title.
It is worth noting that the 64 points from 1988-89 are recalculated under the current three points per win system, as victories were worth two points at the time.
Twenty wins and a psychological breakthrough
From a wins perspective, the pattern is equally revealing. Only three times before had Inter Milan won 20 of their first 25 league matches: in 1988-89, 2006-07 and 2023-24. All three seasons ended in triumph.
This year, Inter Milan have added another crucial ingredient: a direct clash victory. Before defeating Juventus, big matches had felt like both a psychological and technical barrier. That obstacle now appears dismantled.
Cristian Chivu has guided his side one step further, strengthening belief ahead of decisive fixtures, including the upcoming derby against Milan, which will be played at a San Siro expected to lean heavily toward the Rossoneri.
The numbers whisper of destiny. The pitch, as always, will deliver the verdict.
