Extensive rotation expected for Champions League playoff first leg for Inter Milan

Cristian Chivu is preparing a bold reshuffle for Bodo Glimt versus Inter Milan on Wednesday, the first leg of the Champions League playoff.

After the intense battle against Juventus, the coach is reportedly ready to change almost the entire starting eleven.

According to Sky Sport via Fcinter1908 journalist Andrea Paventi, Inter Milan have already adjusted preparations to adapt to the artificial surface. “Inter Milan trained on a synthetic pitch at Interello,” Paventi explained, “but it is different from the one in Bodo. Their surface is an older generation, while the one in Appiano is newer. There will be a targeted session, and Inter Milan will change a lot.”

The attacking partnership could be split. “The Thuram Lautaro duo will be broken up,” Paventi added. “Thuram and Bonny could start together.”

Possible lineup changes in every department

Rotation is also expected in midfield and defense. Barella and Calhanoglu could feature in the middle of the park, while Carlos Augusto is set to give Dimarco a rest. On the opposite flank, Diouf may replace Luis Henrique.

At the back, one of De Vrij or Acerbi could step in for Akanji. Darmian is an option to allow Bisseck to catch his breath, while Bastoni could return to the starting lineup after playing only one half in the previous match.

If confirmed, it would be a near total revolution for Inter Milan, a calculated gamble by Chivu aimed at balancing freshness, adaptation to conditions and ambition in Europe.
