Inter Milan's summer overhaul: De Ligt and Scalvini on defensive radar

Inter Milan is preparing for a summer of major transformation. It all begins with a critical decision regarding the head coach, as the club awaits the final word from Simone Inzaghi. 

His choice will set the tone for the rest of the summer strategy. The club has already made two early moves in the transfer market, signing Petar Sucic and Luis Henrique, but those are just the beginning of what promises to be a very busy window.

Inter Milan is planning changes in all departments. 

In attack, with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic already considered out of the project, and uncertainty surrounding Mehdi Taremi’s role due to his contract, the Nerazzurri are scouting potential replacements. 

Among the names being considered are Santiago Castro from Bologna and Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma—both younger, dynamic profiles who fit into Inter Milan’s strategy of rejuvenating the squad.

Defensive refresh: Inter Milan eyes De Ligt and Scalvini as long-term solutions

The revolution will extend to the defense as well. With Francesco Acerbi turning 37 and Stefan de Vrij now 33, Inter Milan is looking for younger, high-level options to secure the future of their backline. 

According to Sport Mediaset via Fcinter1908.it, the Nerazzurri are interested in bringing in Matthijs de Ligt, currently at Manchester United. 

The idea would be to negotiate a loan deal, a financially viable option that could bring experience and quality to the defense.

But De Ligt isn’t the only name on Inter Milan’s radar. Giorgio Scalvini of Atalanta remains a top target. 

Despite suffering a recent knee injury, he’s considered one of Italy’s most promising defenders. Inter Milan hasn’t ruled out launching a bid in the coming weeks, depending on Atalanta’s demands and Scalvini’s recovery progress.

This potential defensive duo, combining international pedigree with domestic promise, highlights Inter Milan’s goal of building a team capable of competing at the highest level for years to come.
