Inter Milan knows exactly what it wants from the transfer market. Turning those plans into reality, however, will require major work, especially when it comes to outgoing deals.
The Nerazzurri’s dream target is Marco Palestra, but bringing him to Milan will not be simple.

According to Tuttosport via Fcinter1908, there is currently no urgent technical need for reinforcements on the right flank, the area where Palestra operates. Cristian Chivu can already rely on Denzel Dumfries as starter, with Luis Henrique, Matteo Darmian, and even Diouf available as alternatives.
So why pursue another player in that role?
Because by the time the transfer window closes on September 1, the entire picture could look completely different.
Dumfries clause and possible departures could unlock the deal
As widely reported, Dumfries’ contract contains a $27 million (€25 million) release clause, active until July 31 each summer.
Inter Milan could also raise funds through additional departures on that side of the pitch.
Back in January, clubs from England expressed interest in Luis Henrique, who is also valued around $27 million (€25 million).
Meanwhile, Diouf’s future remains uncertain as the player seeks more regular playing time.
Darmian, on the other hand, is among the players whose contracts are expiring.
Marco Palestra is a player greatly appreciated inside Inter Milan, something club president Beppe Marotta has publicly acknowledged.
Yet to seriously attack the deal with Atalanta, the club may need what Tuttosport describes as a “2-for-1 formula”:
Two departures, two major transfer fees collected… and only then could Inter Milan launch a real push for the highly rated youngster.
At the moment, Palestra remains more of a vision than a certainty.
But in the corridors of Appiano, the blueprint is already being drawn.
