Inter Milan could target new midfielder before transfer window closes

Sportitalia reveals two main midfield targets for Inter Milan, plus an Argentine surprise option

Inter Milan may also sign a midfielder in these final stages of the transfer market: two names highlighted, but watch out for a surprise.

Inter Milan's market might not end with Ademola Lookman, should an agreement with Atalanta be reached in these last twenty days of the summer transfer window. 

While waiting to see how and when the various ongoing outgoing deals — such as Taremi and Asllani — will be concluded, the Nerazzurri have not closed the door to a defensive signing either, with De Winter and Leoni as the main names on the list.

In addition, however, a midfield reinforcement cannot be ruled out. “As of today, numerically Inter Milan are fine, but to give Cristian Chivu more options, the club knows a ball-winning midfielder would be useful in the squad. 

They like Mandela Keita from Parma and Morten Frendrup from Genoa. In this case too, however, sales must come first,” explains Sportitalia, which then adds another name: “In recent days, according to Sportitalia’s editorial staff, Santiago Hezze — an Argentine midfielder aged 23, currently at Olympiacos — has been offered to the Nerazzurri through intermediaries. 

He arrived in Greece in the summer of 2023 from Huracan for an investment of €4 million (£3.36 million) and has so far collected three caps with the Argentine national team,” Sportitalia adds.

Hezze has made 15 appearances in the Europa League, 9 in the Conference League, and 4 in the Copa Libertadores. 

Now it remains to be seen what Inter Milan will decide to do.
