Another decisive goal confirms Pio Esposito’s immense potential

Once again, Pio Esposito proved why he is considered one of the brightest attacking prospects in Italian football. 

Thrown into the action by Cristian Chivu during the second half of Inter Milan’s clash with Juventus, the young forward repaid his coach with a goal worthy of a natural born striker.

On Valentine’s Day, the boy from Rione Cicerone offered it to the Curva Nord, rising above everyone to meet yet another precise cross from Federico Dimarco. Perhaps one of the most important connections of the season.

It was his fourth goal in his debut Serie A campaign, his sixth in all competitions, and his first against the Bianconeri. A symbolic strike on a stage that tests both talent and personality.

Trust, mentality and a contract until 2030

It almost feels rehearsed. When Dimarco controls the ball on the left, Esposito darts toward the far post, timing his run before attacking the space with conviction. Last season he scored 19 goals at Spezia. 

In the summer, Inter Milan decided to keep him and secured his future with a long term contract until 2030, turning away offers and interest without hesitation.

Behind that faith stands Cristian Chivu. The coach who believed in him first. The one who told him, “Go, now I need you.” It happened before, during their Primavera days, when Chivu handed him the captain’s armband to test his character. Esposito responded with a hat trick on his debut as captain.

Against Juventus, he struck for the temporary 2-1, choosing the perfect night to leave his mark.
