Albanian midfielder wants Serie A stay while Torino explore loan or resale percentage deal

The Albanian midfielder is out of Inter Milan’s technical plans and, given his desire to stay in Italy, the Granata club could be the right solution.

Torino are serious about Kristjan Asllani: the Albanian midfielder is out of Inter Milan’s plans and, given his wish to remain in Italy, the Granata could be the right fit.

The latest on the negotiations, according to Tuttosport via Fcinter1908: “It’s long, it will be long. Also because Inter Milan would like to receive between £13.4 million and £14.2 million from the sale of Kristjan Asllani, making the deal certainly complicated for Cairo and Vagnati’s Torino.

The Granata, in talks with the Nerazzurri management, have suggested a loan with option or with an obligation conditional on certain team results (such as Conference League qualification).

Granting Inter Milan a significant percentage (around 30–40%) of any future resale fee for Asllani is one route that could help the talks move forward, lowering the initial price of the Albanian — similar to the transfer of Sebastiano Esposito from Inter Milan to Cagliari. The good relationship between Cairo and Marotta could favour the evolution of discussions between Vagnati and Ausilio.

It should be noted that Asllani has already informed Inter Milan he wants to stay in Italy and keep playing in Serie A.

Baroni’s interest and salary talks key to Torino’s Asllani pursuit

In fact, in this transfer window he turned down Spain’s Betis, who had offered around £12.6 million to Inter Milan. After three seasons not exactly as a protagonist (with 99 total appearances for the Nerazzurri), he wants more playing time, and the presence of Baroni — who specifically requested him — could further convince the Albanian playmaker.

Torino’s sporting director Vagnati is also weighing Asllani’s contract with Inter Milan, valid until 2028: between fixed wages and easy bonuses linked to appearances, the Albanian international (33 matches and 3 goals since 2022) earns about £1.68 million net per season.

That figure is close to Torino’s maximum salary cap, except for rare cases (such as Duván Zapata’s arrival).

Talks with Asllani’s entourage have already addressed this point to assess his willingness to renegotiate in case of a long-term move to Torino. This is another obstacle to overcome, making Vagnati’s pursuit of the Albanian realistically possible, but not easy — and unlikely to have quick results.

Outgoing transfers could help, but Vagnati still needs to offload midfielders Tameze and Ilkhan, as well as forward Sanabria (no agreement yet with Cremonese; there’s also contact with Lecce).”
