The Turkish club aims to bring the Inter Milan midfielder home after a failed summer attempt
Rumors from Turkey about the return of the Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu are not stopping. Now, the push has been postponed to January.
Galatasaray has a plan for Hakan Calhanoglu: here’s when they want to bring him to Istanbul.
After submitting their UEFA squad list, the Turkish club tried in the summer to sign Calhanoglu, but were unsuccessful. Now, the Yellow-Reds are ready to make a renewed attempt for the national team midfielder.
Calhanoglu set to play his last card in January as Galatasaray eyes his return
A date has been set for when Cimbom aims to complete the operation. After many failed attempts in summer due to Inter Milan’s resistance, the club will try again at the start of the new year. Calhanoglu, who has no intention of renewing his contract with Inter Milan, will play his last card in January.

Determined to perform well in the Champions League, Galatasaray has already strengthened the squad with Leroy Sané, Wilfried Singo, İlkay Gündoğan, and Uğurcan Çakır.
They also tried to sign Calhanoglu but were unsuccessful. Before submitting their UEFA list on 2 September, the club had insisted heavily on the transfer but could not convince Inter Milan.
Now, the focus is on 2026. The national team midfielder, who earns €6.5 million (£5.6M) net at Inter Milan and has a year and a half left on his contract, does not intend to renew. During the winter transfer window, he will play his last cards to wear the Galatasaray jersey.
The transfer fee could drop to €10 million (£8.7M). Calhanoglu, willing to make financial sacrifices to return to Turkey, will try to reduce Inter Milan’s asking price to around €10 million (£8.7M).
