A dominant display at the Mapei Stadium sends Inter Milan eight points clear, with Chivu praising his side’s maturity, efficiency and collective strength

Another statement win, another night of authority. Inter Milan under Cristian Chivu cruised past Sassuolo with a commanding 5–0 victory at the Mapei Stadium, moving temporarily eight points clear of Milan and further underlining their growing confidence, intensity and tactical awareness.

The opening phase was not without difficulty, as Sassuolo started with aggression and vertical play, but Inter Milan showed the maturity to absorb pressure, read the flow of the match and strike with precision at the right moments.

A key theme highlighted by Chivu in his post-match interview with DAZN via Fcinter1908.

“We understood the moments of the game,” the Inter Milan coach explained. “We suffered their intensity and verticality at first, but we stayed solid and punished them when the chances came.

When a team grows, ruthlessness and efficiency become decisive. This Inter Milan side is more mature, more aware, and able to adapt even when things are not going our way.”

Awareness without obsession

Chivu was keen to stress balance and perspective, urging his players not to lose sight of the journey that has brought Inter Milan to this point.

“We must not forget where we started and what we did to get here. There’s no reason to fear anything,” he said. “You can improve without chasing perfection, because perfection doesn’t exist. The league is still long. This is an important phase, but we are only halfway through the marathon.”

A collective effort

One of the pillars of Chivu’s Inter Milan is squad involvement and shared responsibility.

“This could be the period for Frattesi, for Diouf, for the whole group that works hard every day and wants to be a protagonist,” the coach added. “We need everyone.”

Despite the emphatic result and the growing gap, Chivu downplayed any talk of the Scudetto.

“Title chances? Zero percent for me,” he stated calmly. “There are many teams chasing the same objective. There is still a lot of work and suffering ahead.”

Focus already on Juventus

Attention now turns to the upcoming clash with Juventus, but once again Chivu kept his pragmatic tone.

“It’s a match like any other, with three points at stake,” he said. “Expectations are always high, but what I value most is the maturity of this group. They are ambitious and want to be competitive.”

With a full training week finally on the schedule, Inter Milan aim to approach the next challenge with clarity and hunger.

“This will be the first week with four consecutive training sessions. We’ll be ready, with desire and ambition.”

Another dominant win, another clear message to the rest of the league: Inter Milan are moving forward with confidence, intensity and control.
