Not just Akanji, Chivu will reunite with most of the Nerazzurri as preparations intensify for Saturday’s big clash
Preparations continue at Inter Milan ahead of Saturday’s big clash with Juventus. Chivu met with some players returning from national team duty yesterday, and today another part of the squad arrives at Appiano Gentile.
“Appiano Gentile is coming back to life as the short (and strategic) preparation begins for Saturday’s super-match.
The game against Juventus follows the international break and, above all, the heavy defeat at San Siro against Udinese.

The first to arrive yesterday at the training center were the two Dutchmen, Stefan de Vrij and Denzel Dumfries (fresh from an excellent performance in orange), along with Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski and the controversial Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
The Turkish midfielder is returning from the 0-6 home defeat against Spain that caused much debate back home. Here, however, it is the playmaker himself who is in the spotlight: after many summer controversies and a disappointing debut against Udinese, he must regain centrality in Chivu’s system.
A more vertical style of play is emerging, and it is up to him to quickly ferry the ball to the forwards. For now, the Romanian coach seems unwilling to give up the security of his three midfielders.”
Chivu focuses on tactical drills as remaining Nerazzurri join
“From now until Saturday, training will focus on this system, with the rest of the squad arriving today.
At La Pinetina, Akanji will finally be introduced, and the Italian contingent—Dimarco, Bastoni, Frattesi, Barella, and Pio Esposito—will be welcomed back after the intense match against Israel.
Also expected is Croatian Sucic, continuing to prove strategic alongside Milan’s Modric, and Marcus Thuram, who started in Paris against Iceland: the Frenchman will only have a recovery session.
Completing the picture tomorrow, Lautaro Martinez returns from South America; the captain will train only twice before Juventus.”
