Inter Milan are entering a crucial phase of the summer transfer window as the club looks to replace Denzel Dumfries following his official move to Real Madrid.

After missing out on both Anan Khalaili and Filippo Palestra, sporting director Piero Ausilio and the Nerazzurri recruitment team are carefully weighing their next move.

Following Denzel Dumfries' move to Real Madrid, Inter Milan are carefully evaluating several right-sided options as Cristian Chivu looks to reshape his squad.

The decision will not only shape Cristian Chivu's tactical plans but also have a significant financial impact, making it one of the club's most important transfer choices of the summer.

Spence and Doué remain the leading targets

According to Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham's Djed Spence and Strasbourg defender Guéla Doué continue to lead Inter Milan's shortlist.

Both players are viewed as high-quality options capable of immediately strengthening the right flank.

Spence offers Premier League experience, pace and versatility, while Doué has impressed with his athleticism and defensive reliability in Ligue 1.

However, both deals would require a significant financial commitment, forcing Inter Milan to carefully balance quality with affordability.

The report also notes that neither player possesses exactly the same attacking profile as Khalaili or Palestra, meaning Chivu could be looking for a slightly different tactical solution.

Alternative options still under consideration

Inter Milan are therefore keeping several alternative plans alive.

One of the names under discussion is Nahuel Molina. The Atlético Madrid full-back is already familiar with Serie A after his successful spell at Udinese and could represent an experienced solution with proven quality at the highest level.

Another player admired by the club is Dan Ndoye. The Swiss international impressed Inter Milan's scouting department during his time at Bologna thanks to his pace, direct running and ability to operate in multiple attacking positions.

The shortlist also includes Hellas Verona's Rafik Belghali, a player the Nerazzurri monitored closely throughout last season.

Perhaps the most intriguing option, however, is Ivan Perišić. The Croatian remains one of the most versatile wide players in European football, but at 37 years old, Inter Milan would need to carefully consider whether experience outweighs the long-term benefits of investing in a younger profile.

With several candidates offering different tactical qualities and transfer costs, Inter Milan are expected to spend the coming days evaluating every scenario before deciding who will inherit one of the most demanding roles in Cristian Chivu's system.
