The Nerazzurri won in Munich thanks to an outstanding performance, with Frattesi’s goal sealing Inter Milan’s incredible concentration until the last available action.

A historic victory that ended Bayern's 22-match unbeaten run at home in the Champions League. 

A success described by Simone Inzaghi, who remains focused on the return leg:

“Congratulations to the players, more than the result, I think about how we played. However, we know that this is just the first leg, they are very strong, but Inter Milan managed to stand up to Bayern with determination and courage, very very well. 

It is certainly a match of great significance that makes us happy: Bayern’s numbers are incredible, we have done something important, but we will need to build on this performance in seven days in front of our fans. 

I expected more pressing from them, but they found an Inter Milan that played well, we scored two goals by transitioning well and playing the ball: in the end, we didn’t stop believing in the win, even after the draw. 

In the day and a half we had to prepare for the match, we talked a lot, it was necessary to take possession away from Bayern and play with personality. 

In the first half, we did well, in the second half at the beginning, Bayern made themselves felt, but we always remained sharp and focused, as shown by the goal at the end.”
