Mkhitaryan

Contract decisions loom for five Inter Milan playeirs

There is only one expiring contract at Inter Milan that currently carries a concrete possibility of renewal.

According to Andrea Paventi, speaking to Sky Sport, the situation among the five players nearing the end of their deals is becoming clearer.

“Of the five players whose contracts are expiring, the only one who could renew is Henrikh Mkhitaryan,” Paventi explained. “Also because of the way Inter Milan play, with three midfielders, and considering how the squad is structured.”

The Armenian midfielder remains a key tactical piece. His versatility, positional intelligence and ability to connect phases of play make him particularly valuable in a three-man midfield system.

Even as the club looks to rejuvenate parts of the squad, his experience and adaptability continue to carry weight inside the dressing room.

Calhanoglu situation more complex

The picture appears more nuanced when it comes to Hakan Çalhanoğlu.

“It will depend on the will of both the player and the club,” Paventi added, hinting that any potential extension would likely require a salary adjustment.

A reduced wage could be a necessary condition for negotiations to move forward.

Inter Milan are entering a delicate phase of squad planning, balancing financial sustainability with the need to remain competitive on multiple fronts. With several contracts expiring, decisions will soon shape the spine of next season’s project.

For now, only one name seems to have a clear path toward staying. The others remain suspended between uncertainty and summer change.
