The Italian winger scored in Liverpool’s league opener and, despite transfer rumors, the club has no plans to let him go for now

In recent weeks, Inter Milan and Napoli had set their sights on Federico Chiesa, hoping to take advantage of Liverpool’s abundance of options in attack.

Chiesa is the man of the moment at Liverpool: it was his goal that secured the Reds three points late against Bournemouth in the league opener.

And as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908, the former Fiorentina star’s name is still on Inter Milan’s list, although Liverpool currently consider him untouchable.

“In short, the Reds’ management have blocked any move. Yet doubts remain about this stance. It’s no coincidence that in recent weeks Inter Milan and Napoli had been eyeing Chiesa, counting on Liverpool’s squad depth.

In recent weeks, Inter Milan and Napoli had set their sights on Federico Chiesa, hoping to take advantage of Liverpool’s abundance of options in attack.

All the more since, during the Asian tour, coach Slot left the attacker out, sparking hope among his Italian admirers.

Evidently, however, the English club never put Chiesa on the market. In fact, reliable voices explained that the Italian stayed home only because of minor muscle issues, with a personalized training plan and no competitive commitments.

At first it looked like the usual diplomatic explanation to cool the rumors or maybe spark an auction later on, when buyers are willing to spend more.

But in recent days, the Tuscan forward spoke directly with his coach, while his agent Ramadani met Liverpool’s management. The response was unanimous: Federico is needed at the club, especially as recent moves have reduced the number of wingers available.

Of course, with fifteen days left in the transfer window, it’s too early for definitive verdicts.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are locked in an expensive battle with Newcastle for Swedish striker Alexander Isak. This could end up being the costliest transfer of the summer in Europe, with Newcastle’s Saudi owners already rejecting a €125 million (£105 million) offer.

Inter Milan and Napoli face a red light from Liverpool

Chiesa, of course, has different characteristics, but it’s not impossible that Liverpool might consider an offer for him late in the window. For now, however, the light is red.

Napoli, after missing out on Ndoye to Nottingham Forest, are still looking at the Premier League for a winger to strengthen the left side.

Chiesa would fit Conte’s system perfectly, and the player himself would gladly return to Italy to reclaim a starring role and a starting spot for the national team.

But the difficulties in dealing with Liverpool have already led Manna to turn towards Elmas — a clue that cannot be underestimated.

At the same time, Inter Milan also evaluated the possibility of moving for the Fiorentina-grown talent. Yet this stop complicates all Italian plans — at least for now.”
