Inter Milan step up preparations for a crucial match against AS Roma as key players return

The engines are humming again at Appiano Gentile training center, where Inter Milan have resumed training under Cristian Chivu.

With several players still away on international duty, the squad is gradually coming back together as focus shifts toward Sunday night’s crucial clash at San Siro against AS Roma, a key step in the title race.

According to Sky Sport via Fcinter1908, there were positive signs on the training pitch.

Lautaro and Thuram return

Lautaro Martínez has now fully recovered and trained with the group, confirming he is ready to return to action.

Alongside him was Marcus Thuram, fresh from scoring with France national team. 

After a light recovery session the previous day, the striker has now rejoined full training.

Mkhitaryan still working separately

Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains the only notable absentee from full group work.

The midfielder is gradually increasing his workload but is not yet at full fitness. A decision on his availability for the AS Roma match will be made closer to the weekend, with final assessments expected between Friday and Saturday.

Inter Milan are slowly piecing the puzzle back together.

With Lautaro ready, Thuram back in rhythm, and the squad returning step by step, the stage is being set for a high-stakes night at San Siro.
