Frattesi back in Inter Milan’s plans after Chivu appointment

Chivu’s arrival has reshaped Davide Frattesi’s future at Inter Milan: once close to leaving, now he’s increasingly central to the club’s vision

With the change on the bench, the situation surrounding Davide Frattesi has dramatically shifted. 

The midfielder seemed set to leave Inter Milan, wanting a bigger role, but Chivu’s arrival is changing everything. La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908.it explains:

“The Italian mezzala had one foot and three-quarters out of Inter Milan just ten days ago, but now the chances of him staying are clearly higher. 

In fact, they’re growing day by day — a development that pleases the club at Viale della Liberazione, to which he is contracted until 2028. 

With the ‘Highlander’ Mkhitaryan heading towards 37, fresh energy will be needed in midfield, and no one brings intensity quite like Davide.

Inter Milan's management would have accepted his desire to leave — a request they firmly blocked in January — also because it’s counterproductive to keep someone whose mind is elsewhere. 

But now Frattesi is once again focused solely on the Nerazzurri, and that matters with the transfer window approaching.

Antonio Conte wants him at Napoli, and his former club Roma remains interested. Still, Frattesi holds the cards.

A fresh start: Frattesi to train with Chivu's staff for the first time

We’re in a happy phase of mutual discovery, although Frattesi has yet to train with the new coaching team to provide a final verdict. 

Like the other Azzurri returning from the latest drama-filled national team stint under Spalletti, Davide has been granted two extra rest days.

Yesterday morning (U.S. time), he trained in the hotel gym and then enjoyed a stroll through West Hollywood and Beverly Hills — far from the tense Downtown area. Tomorrow marks his first training session under the new staff, a chance to get deeper into tactical work on the pitch.

Both Frattesi and Inter Milan are keeping an eye on external factors too: the previously unshakeable midfield hierarchy may be shifting — not only due to Davide’s rise but also with the intriguing addition of Luka Sučić.
