Bisseck or Akanji? The Inter Milan coach must decide who will start on the right side of the defense against Juventus after the international break

Chivu will have to decide who to field as right center-back: better the German defender or the latest arrival? On one hand, the reliable option, though still lacking match fitness; on the other, the newcomer, who hasn’t yet had time to fully adapt to his new reality, but who enjoys a higher status and currently looks in great shape.

Bisseck or Akanji? The Inter Milan coach must decide who will start on the right side of the defense against Juventus after the international break.

We are talking about Yann Bisseck and Manuel Akanji, the two players competing for a starting spot on the right side of Inter Milan’s defense when the league resumes against Juventus.

Experience and form: Akanji’s edge over Bisseck in Inter Milan defense

Chivu and his staff will weigh the pros and cons of both solutions, as reported by Corriere dello Sport via Fcinter1908:
“There will also be room for Akanji. The new signing should be the only discontinuity compared to the Inzaghi-era Inter Milan

It’s true that throwing a player straight into action after only a few training sessions with his teammates is risky.

But perhaps it would be even riskier to confirm Bisseck after the mistake that cost the goal scored by Atta against Udinese. The German has been working at Pinetina in recent days to improve his condition.

Against the Friuli side, he was behind in form and it showed, but with Pavard on his way out, Chivu still chose to field him.

Akanji, on the other hand, besides being experienced, seems to be in top shape, as was evident with Switzerland in the match against Kosovo, where he even scored the opening goal. In short, against Yildiz – who had already caused problems for Bisseck in the 4-4 draw last October – it may be wiser to play it safe.”
