SkySport reporter Andrea Paventi reveals Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is doing everything possible to recover from injury ahead of the decisive match

SkySport's reporter via Fcinter1908.it spoke about the Inter Milan captain and his recovery efforts ahead of the Champions League clash against the Blaugrana side.

"The signals as of today suggest that Lautaro Martinez will be available on Tuesday. Or at least, they’re trying everything to have him ready.

The injury he suffered is one of those that typically require at least a week to recover from, as there’s a first phase where the muscle must rest, followed by a phase of increased workload.

The signals as of today suggest that Lautaro Martinez will be available on Tuesday. Or at least, they’re trying everything to have him ready.

Lautaro is going through both phases at once. Inter Milan has an excellent medical staff working on his recovery, and they’re putting in a lot of effort," said Andrea Paventi on SkySport, discussing the condition of the captain, who is facing a left thigh strain at the worst moment of the season.

The injury, sustained in the match against Barcelona, could force him to miss the return leg.

“They’re giving it their all. Lautaro is showing strong willpower and determination to be available for Inzaghi, so that the coach can decide whether to start him or not.

His eyes show someone trying to speed up the timeline. Because a chance to reach a second Champions League final in two or three years may only come once in a lifetime.

So if there’s a risk to take, you take it for a shot at that final,” the journalist added about the Argentine forward.

Backup plan in place as Taremi prepares mentally for possible start

“If Lautaro doesn’t recover in time to start, Taremi would step in. From last night's match against Verona, it's clear that there has also been mental preparation for Tuesday's game.” Paventi concluded.
