Manu Koné offered to Inter Milan as midfield reinforcement

Roma propose the French midfielder to Inter Milan, who could still target Lookman

Manu Koné is the brand-new name for Inter Milan’s midfield. The Frenchman from Roma has in fact been offered to the Nerazzurri. 

His arrival should be considered an alternative to that of Lookman due to the costs of both deals, but not necessarily. 

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908, there is in fact a scenario that foresees the possible arrival of both:
“An opportunity, emerging from the folds of the transfer market, comes directly from the capital: Manu Koné, 24-year-old French international from Roma. 

The central midfielder, with physical qualities that no other holding player in Chivu’s squad possesses, has been directly offered to Inter Milan by the Giallorossi, who intend to sell him in this transfer window. 

A profile like this, in a department with Mkhitaryan now advanced in age and Çalhanoğlu far from his former peak fitness, is fully appreciated by the Nerazzurri. It is no coincidence that the directors had thought of him even when Hakan was flirting with Galatasaray for a return to his homeland.”

Within the walls of Appiano Gentile, the matter will be discussed in depth, and talks will run in parallel with those for Lookman: the two names are not necessarily alternatives. 

Inter Milan could invest up to €30 million (£25.3m) for the Frenchman, while keeping resources available to still attempt a move for the Nigerian.

Koné’s profile fits Chivu’s system thanks to his athleticism and defensive work

Koné is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder known for his ability to break up opposition play and launch quick transitions. 

His ball-carrying skills allow him to progress the game under pressure, while his stamina and tackling make him a constant presence in both defensive and offensive phases. 

In Chivu’s system, which often requires midfielders to cover large spaces and press aggressively, Koné could offer both athleticism and balance — especially important alongside more creative but less mobile teammates. 

His aerial ability would also give Inter Milan a useful edge in set-piece situations, an area where the team has occasionally struggled.
