The Nerazzurri coach's words after Bologna vs. Inter Milan

A bitter evening for Inter Milan, who stumble at the Dall’Ara, slowing their momentum after a tough, balanced, and hard-fought match against Bologna.

The hosts snatched all three points deep into stoppage time with a goal from Orsolini.

Simone Inzaghi's words after Bologna vs. Inter Milan

After the final whistle, coach Simone Inzaghi analyzed the team’s performance:

“There was the throw-in incident — the players were nervous at the end because the ball went out in our technical area but was taken practically in Bologna’s. Then from that long throw came the final throw-in, and we should have defended better there, we had numerical superiority.

We lost a very important game that we didn’t deserve to lose. We traded blow for blow and it hurts. It’s a painful defeat, but the season doesn’t end in Bologna — we move forward with great confidence.

Tonight was too soon for analysis; there was some frustration. We had to defend better and not allow that ball to reach Orsolini, but I can’t fault the players.

We’re missing a few players, and the only two booked today — Mkhitaryan and Bastoni — were already on a yellow and will be suspended for Sunday’s game against Roma.

On Wednesday, we’ll be back on the pitch for the Coppa Italia semifinal. Tomorrow we’ll look at things with more clarity, but our season is far from over.

Where do we go from here? We start again from today’s performance — we responded to every blow, fought against a team in good form, and the guys gave everything they had.

We respected Bologna and tried to push forward when the time was right. A draw would’ve been the fairest result, but we move forward without any issue.

Napoli? We’re level on points, with five games to go. The fixture list only matters so much — it won’t be easy for us, for Napoli, or for any of the teams fighting for a Champions League spot.

Now we’ll analyze where we could have done better, without looking for excuses, and we’ll continue on the path we’ve been on with our recent performances.”
