After a disappointing season, Inter Milan is ready to part ways with Mehdi Taremi. His agent is already exploring new options in Turkey

Inter Milan has made a definitive decision regarding Mehdi Taremi’s future. The Iranian striker, who joined the club on a free transfer from FC Porto, is set to leave during the current summer transfer window following an underwhelming first year in Serie A.

Although Taremi’s arrival was initially seen as a smart move — offering depth and experience to the attacking lineup — he failed to meet expectations and struggled to find consistent form under manager Simone Inzaghi.

With limited minutes and competition from more established forwards, his impact was minimal, prompting the club to reconsider his role moving forward.

Naturally, any potential transfer will depend on finding the right terms. Inter Milan, despite having signed him for free, is not willing to give the player away without some form of compensation.

They are reportedly seeking a modest fee that would allow them to recoup value while freeing up space in the squad and the wage bill.

Besiktas emerge as a potential destination, but no direct talks yet

According to Gianluigi Longari of Sportitalia via Fcinter1908, Taremi’s agent has already started exploring the market, with particular focus on Turkey.

Besiktas, one of Istanbul’s top clubs, have shown early interest and have initiated informal discussions with the player’s entourage. However, there have been no direct negotiations between the two clubs at this stage.

Taremi’s profile — as an experienced international striker with Champions League pedigree — could be appealing to several Turkish sides, especially as they look to bolster their squads for both domestic and European competitions.

Unless there is a sudden change of plans or an unexpected opportunity within Serie A or elsewhere, Taremi appears poised to leave Milan before the new season begins.

His next destination may not be finalized yet, but what’s clear is that his future lies away from San Siro.
