Inter Milan open to selling Calhanoglu, with Atalanta’s Ederson now top priority; Marotta and Ausilio face a tough negotiation path with Paratici’s team

The negotiations between Galatasaray and Inter Milan for Hakan Calhanoglu are heating up, and the Nerazzurri have already identified Atalanta’s Brazilian midfielder Ederson as their top target to replace the Turkish playmaker.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport via Fcinter1908:
"At present, Ederson represents something between a dream and a realistic option. Convincing Atalanta won’t be easy, but if the right conditions arise, the Brazilian would become Inter Milan’s primary objective—well ahead of other options like Rovella or Stiller, who was the latest to be added to the wishlist."

However, to even open negotiations with Paratici and his American partners, Marotta and Ausilio will need to start from a base fee of at least €45 million (£38 million).

How Inter Milan could fund their midfield revolution

That amount certainly won’t come solely from the sale of Calhanoglu—especially considering that Galatasaray traditionally avoids high transfer fees, instead offering high wages to their targets.

Nonetheless, Inter Milan have several players who could help raise funds.

Among them is Yann Bisseck, a target for several top European clubs, as well as promising youngsters like Sebastiano Esposito, Kristjan Asllani, Aleksandar Stankovic, and Davide Frattesi.

Inter Milan hope to raise enough from surplus players and reinvest aggressively in Ederson, who would bring a significant shift in their midfield dynamics.

Because between Ederson and Calhanoglu, the differences are not just stylistic—they could redefine the entire way Inter Milan build their play.
